Erratum to: Impact of intravenous fluid composition on outcomes in patients with systemic inflammatory response syndrome

چکیده
The single value for SOFA CV Level 2 "Saline cohort n (%)" in Table S3 (Additional File 1 in this Erratum) has been corrected. In addition, we noticed that the legend for Fig. 2 (Fig. 1 in this Erratum) was incorrectly given as “Administrative and clinical outcomes unadjusted and adjusted for Acute Physiology Score”. The correct legend for Fig. 2 is “Administrative and clinical outcomes unadjusted and adjusted for APS, Elixhauser comorbidities of congestive heart failure, hypertension and lymphoma, admission source, census region, and payer.” The labels above the right-hand side plots within the figure also needed corrections and have been updated in this erratum.

Fluid strategies and outcomes in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome, systemic inflammatory response syndrome and sepsis: a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
BACKGROUND Fluid administration to critically ill patients remains the subject of considerable controversy. While intravenous fluid given for resuscitation may be life-saving, a positive fluid balance over time is associated with worse outcomes in critical illness. The aim of this systematic review is to summarise the existing evidence regarding the relationship between fluid administration or ...
متن کاملSystemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome Due to Surgery and its Effective Therapeutic Approaches
Introduction: Various lesions trigger an inflammatory response in the host body. These injuries include surgical stress Surgery exerts stress on the body. Systemic inflammatory syndrome is a reflection of the degree of surgical stress and as a system of assessing the severity of postoperative stress. Regular complexes of inflammatory polypeptide molecules contribute to the development of this i...
متن کاملImpact of intravenous fluid composition on outcomes in patients with systemic inflammatory response syndrome
INTRODUCTION Intravenous (IV) fluids may be associated with complications not often attributed to fluid type. Fluids with high chloride concentrations such as 0.9 % saline have been associated with adverse outcomes in surgery and critical care. Understanding the association between fluid type and outcomes in general hospitalized patients may inform selection of fluid type in clinical practice. ...
متن کاملSerum procalcitonin level as a biomarker for the differential diagnosis between infectious and non-infectious systemic inflammatory response syndrome: a prospective case–control study
Background and Aim: Considering the importance of sepsis and its complications in the mortality of the patients admitted to different parts of hospital and the importance of early diagnosis and timely and appropriate treatment in the patients' survival, we investigated the value of procalcitonin serum level for the differential diagnosis between infectious and non-infectious SIRS in the patient...
متن کاملComparing the Scores of Sequential Organ Failure Assessment and a Proposed Bedside Tool in Patients with Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome Admitted to ICU
Background and purpose: Sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) is used to assess the severity of the disease and mortality rate in patients admitted to ICU. SOFA requires experiments that are impractical in centers with limited resources. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic value of bedside SOFA (b SOFA) and SOFA scores in mortality of ICU patients. Materials and methods: ...
